Mission

At Lighthouse Covenant Church, “Walking with Jesus, Building His family, and Shining His light” is more than a motto — it’s why we exist. We believe our mission directs us to see ourselves and the community around us with the heart of Jesus, who desires a relationship with everyone and brings us into the real family of God. Together we follow Jesus to love and care for our West Sacramento community.

Walking with Jesus

We exist to invite people into a relationship with Jesus, with pathways to grow in Him — rooted, built up, and established in the faith.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Building His family

Together we learn what it means to live as children of God with one another — a community built on sincere relationship with Jesus and with each other.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Shining His light

We help people discover the God-given spiritual gifts and passions that ignite a life of mission and purpose — shining the light of Jesus within the church, and from the church to our community, calling people into a new life of faith, hope, and His love.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Vision

A church family where our West Sacramento neighbors can come as they are, meet Jesus, discover who they are in Him, and live out their purpose together — shining His light in our community. We pray that when anyone connects with Lighthouse:

• They will receive an invitation to follow Jesus and pathways to grow in Him.
• They will discover their identity and purpose in Christ.
• They will live out their purpose and calling with one another.

Values

Our mission is what we do; our vision is where we’re headed. Our values are how we travel — the convictions that shape how we treat one another, our neighbors, and everyone who walks through our doors.

Come as you are

Nobody has to have it all figured out to belong here. Whatever your background, and wherever you are with faith, you’re welcome exactly as you are — because that’s how Jesus welcomed us.

Family, not an institution

The church is people, not a building or an organization. We’re a small church by design — the kind of place where you’re known by name, burdens are shared, and Sunday feels more like a family gathering than a crowd.

A missionary’s heart for West Sacramento

We’ve long sent and supported missionaries around the world, and we carry that same heart into our Southport neighborhood — building real friendships with our neighbors, community leaders, and local partners, and loving our community in word and deed.

The Bible at the center

Scripture is our rule for faith and life. We open it honestly — not just to study it, but to meet the living Christ in its pages.

Every gift matters

God gives spiritual gifts to every believer, and ministry belongs to all of us — not just the professionals. We want everyone to discover their God-given gifts and get to use them.

Unity over uniformity

On the essentials we stand together; on secondary matters we extend each other freedom, love, and grace. We’d rather focus on what unites us in Christ than on what divides.
