TUESDAYS, 7PM, at West Sacramento Community Church, 1020 West Capitol Ave.
RECOVERY, n.: God working in your life.
Recovery ministry is about a lot more than chemical abuse. Hurts, habits, and hangups of every kind keep us trapped in the “old creation,” but Christ calls us into the new. We have all sinned and have been sinned against. As a result, we all fall short and struggle with hurts, habits and hang-ups. Celebrate Recovery helps people resolve their pain in the context of the church as a whole. This program is fellowship based, and is the celebration of Christ in the life of the Body of Christ.
Celebrate Recovery is an ongoing support ministry that is available year round. It can be attended on a regular or an as-needed basis. It is built on 25 Christ-centered lessons. These lessons will be taught in our “large group” portion of the evening on a bi-weekly schedule throughout the course of a year. On other weeks, testimonies of individuals having gone through the Celebrate Recovery step study will be shared.
After large group we break out into small groups, called “open share”, where men meet with men and women meet with women to share in a safe confidential environment. CR step studies are taught on another night and are set up as need and leaders arise. Lighthouse is beginning a new CR ministry partnership with our friends at West Sacramento Community Church. Our meetings will be there in 2017 as we seek to reach into the heart of the city with God’s love.
There is hope and a way that the church can help the hurting move beyond their wounds to experience the healing liberty of Christ. There is hope for all in Celebrate Recovery because Jesus is our hope.
